Occupational therapy starts with a question. Which activities matter most to you? A licensed occupational therapist assesses what's getting in the way, then builds the work around exactly those things, with a Case Manager keeping the schedule straight.

Your therapist assesses where speech, language, voice, swallowing, or cognition needs work, then builds a custom action plan around it. Visits run at the frequency your physician sets, for kids and adults both.

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy in Ohio?

Often no. Ohio allows direct access to physical therapy in many cases, but some insurance plans still want a referral on file before they'll pay. Call us with your plan name and we'll check for you before your first visit.

What happens at the first appointment?

A licensed therapist evaluates you, talks through your goals, and starts your personalized plan. Bring your insurance card, a photo ID, and any paperwork from your doctor. Wear clothes you can move in.

What if I can't get to the clinic?

We'll bring therapy to you. Med1Care runs in-home physical, occupational, and speech therapy across 26 Ohio counties, so ask about a home evaluation instead of canceling on your recovery.

Is physical therapy risky?

Therapy is generally safe because a licensed therapist controls the load and progression. Expect some soreness as you rebuild strength, and tell your therapist right away if something hurts sharply. Plans get adjusted, not pushed through pain.
